COST: $275.00

This class is limited to firm principals and senior managers only.

What you learn: How to access and modify your drawing files by yourself after your staff has gone home for the evening. Specific topics discussed include: Opening drawing files. Creating a "Revision" layer and adding information. Working with Paper/Model/Layout Environments. Plotting a drawing to a scale. Organizing CAD project data. Budgeting for CAD projects. Managing drawing revision libraries. Liabilities when transferring electronic drawing files.

Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Windows NT or instructor approval.

Course Description: This course provides a safe haven for firm principals and senior managers to develop and reinforce their knowledge of today's vital CAD programs. There will be the opportunity for the class to share stories and case studies with other A/E professionals. Remember when a principal could look over a drafter's shoulder and get a handle on the current job status? We show you how you can use today's tools to accomplish the same thing.
Topics discussed include:
(1) Organizing data
(2) Layer Standards
(3) The Big Picture Items: Paper Space; Model Space; External References; Raster Images as Backgrounds

Course Project: Analyze the cartoon set for a project, and the resultant data files from the completed construction document set. Make revisions to and plot drawings from the set.

Grading: Class participants will receive a grade for their contributions to the class. There will be quizzes and tests to ensure that class participants fully understand the topics being presented.

Open labs: Open labs are available for use in completing homework assignments and for additional "practice time" by the class participants. There is an additional cost for using open labs. Please contact us to receive that information.
